PBT | Polybutylene Terephthalate with 20% Glass Fibre
PBT (Polybutylene Terephthalate) with 20% Glass Fibre (GF) is a technical thermoplastic polymer used as an insulator in the electricity and electronics sector. It is a (semi)crystalline thermoplastic polymer, and a type of polyester. PBT is resistant to solvents, its shrinkage during moulding is minimal, it is mechanically resistant, resists temperatures of up to 120ºC (248ºF), and can be treated with flame retardants to transform it into a fireproof product. If it is reinforced with Fibre Glass, it acquired greater dimensional and thermal stability and hardness.
PBT is closely linked to other thermoplastic polyesters. Compared to PET (polyethylene terephthalate), PBT is slightly less resistant and rigid, slightly better resistance to impacts, and slightly lower glass transition temperature. PBT and PET are sensitive to hot water at temperatures over 50ºC (120ºF). They also require UV protection if used outdoors, and most of the qualities of these polyesters are inflammable, though additives can be used to strengthen their resistance to inflammability and UV radiation.
Uses of PBT | Polybutylene Terephthalate with 20% Glass Fibre
In our plastic recycling plant we have the machinery and capacity to produce PBT | Polybutylene Terephthalate with 20% Glass Fibre in different colors and with different characteristics of flow and impact and / or loads.
