EQUIPLAST 2023 in Barcelona will once again be the centre of the new trends in plastics Sustainability, Recycling and Digitalisation are the three pillars of this edition and in a way those already started in its previous edition of 2021 where Plasticos Alser presented its clear profile of adaptability to the markets of plastic consumption and recycled applicability polymers.
Challenges of plastic recycling
The new challenges of recycling are in sourcing, upgrading, stabilising and separating each of the qualities. Not degrading clean polymers with traces or mixtures of post consumer or very dirty agricultural plastics and even industrial packaging that has contained toxic products (oils, solvents, acids, etc.). High consumption sectors such as Food, Logistics, Agriculture or Automotive require specifications that are sustainable over time and this does not only apply to improving the recycled sources to be used. In addition, the recycled processing lines must be prepared to be able to make recipes or customised formulas for the challenges of each type of sector and part to be applied.
Repeatable formulas and even an R&D department in the processing plants will be essential, together with their laboratory, to evaluate raw materials, compounds, additives or colourants. All this in order to meet the requirements indicated by each customer for their end market.
Alser already defines from the beginning these traceabilities by qualities and specifications so that they can be adjusted again in their process and reach the standards indicated by the customers. ECO POLYMER RECYCLING is the final brand of recycled pellets that can also be certified in its compositions in % of post-consumer, post-industrial and even virgin material can be added and give as a result a final hybrid according to the % required by the final project.
Example rc*PP+ri*PP+PP+PP *(rc=post-consumer recycled, ri=post-industrial recycled)
Alser will be present in Hall 3 – Stand G11, at EQUIPLAST 2023 from 30th May to 2nd June. Four intense days of contacts, ideas, presentations and exchanges that will materialise in the applications of the immediate future. Plastic is not shrinking, it is reinventing itself and repositioning itself for a longer useful life than initially expected. This is where society has already reacted with increased recycling efforts in households and industry. This is driving the repositioning of a greater mass of polymers on the market, reinforcing the catalogue of materials to be applied by designers and creatives who define the new milestones of plastics in the different markets.
Aler present at Equiplast 2023
The RETHINKING PLASTICS section at EQUIPLAST highlights the application of recycled materials in real and functional applications in industry, consumer products, automotive and logistics. And Alser has already helped to present one of the proposals of this section with application in intensive agriculture in PP 30GF trays, which require great stability and functionality in its semi-automatic planting system at the foot of the greenhouse. In this 2023 edition we will propose new ideas and real results.
Alser’s recycled Compound materials are a wide range of possibilities; PEHD, PELD, PP, PP, PP EPDM, PP TALCO, PP GF, PS, ABS, ABS/PC, PC, POM, PA6, PA6 GF, PA66, PA66GF, PBT, TPE.
