On 24 September 2026, Plásticos Alser will be attending the 5th National Plastics Recycling Congress in Madrid, organised by ANARPLA (National Association of Plastics Recyclers). This latest edition of one of the key events for the plastics recycling sector in Spain will take place at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano Stadium in Madrid.
For Alser, this event means much more than simply attending a congress. It will be an opportunity to share experience, discuss the real challenges facing the industry and continue to champion the role of mechanical recycling and recycled plastic materials in high-demand industrial applications.
César Alonso will take part in the panel discussion on recycling and the automotive sector
One of the highlights of the day for Plásticos Alser will take place in the afternoon. César Alonso, CEO of Plásticos Alser, will speak at the round-table discussion entitled “Recycled plastics and the automotive sector: from industrial demand to true circularity”, scheduled for 4.00 pm to 4.30 pm.
He will be joined at the table by Marta Blázquez, president of Faconauto, and Ángel Martínez-León, director of Acteco Reciclado. This is a particularly relevant discussion at a time when the automotive sector must move towards higher levels of circularity without losing sight of fundamental aspects such as technical performance, material stability, traceability, quality and competitiveness.
Alser’s participation in this debate will provide the perspective of a company that works directly with recycled polymers, compounds and materials for industrial applications, bringing to the Congress the reality of the gap between circularity objectives and their effective implementation in production processes.
A sector undergoing major transformation
The 5th National Congress on Plastics Recycling comes at a particularly important time for the entire value chain. The evolution of the regulatory framework, new European requirements, traceability, trends in the recycled plastics market and the need to promote an industrially viable circular economy will be among the key topics of the event.
The programme features over 20 speakers, four round-table discussions and 18 content sessions, addressing issues such as the future of plastics recycling in Europe, the state of the sector in Spain, the market for recycled raw materials, the new legal framework for packaging and waste, technological innovation and funding channels to advance towards circularity.
The organisers expect to bring together more than 450 professionals at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano, including recyclers, converters, producers, machinery manufacturers, public authorities, associations and other stakeholders linked to the plastics value chain.
Alser continues to support the National Plastics Recycling Congress as a sponsor
Participation in this fifth edition builds on Plásticos Alser’s presence at previous congresses organised by ANARPLA. In 2021 and 2022, during the first and second editions, the company highlighted the challenges and applications of recycled materials. Meanwhile, in 2024, César Alonso spoke to analyse the challenges and opportunities associated with incorporating recycled materials whilst meeting the technical requirements demanded by various sectors, and particularly by the automotive industry.
Two years on, Alser returns to Madrid to continue playing an active role in a debate that is part of our day-to-day work: how to ensure that recycled plastic plays an ever-greater role in real-world industrial applications that are technically demanding and competitive.
At Plásticos Alser, we view this new event as an opportunity to share knowledge, listen to the industry’s needs and meet with clients, partners and professionals who are working towards a common goal: to move towards a circular economy based not only on objectives, but also on technically viable solutions capable of operating on an industrial scale.
We look forward to seeing you on 24 September in Madrid, at ANARPLA’s 5th National Congress on Plastics Recycling.
