Polypropylene or PP is a versatile and very useful thermoplastic. But, not all polypropylene thermoplastics are the same. So, below, we will review the uses of PP 20 and 30 GF polypropylene.
Uses and application of PP 20 GF
It is a material that is reinforced with up to 20% short glass fibre (GF) which comes in a standard grain size of 4mm.
This results in a polypropylene that is more rigid, with greater structural capacity and better dimensional stability. Thus, this material can be used for both motor and heat energy applications.
Meanwhile, it can achieve an ageing capacity of between 500 and up to 1,300 h, while its thermal resistance can reach up to 150°C.
This allows PP 20 GF to be used as a reinforcement material for structures, electrical boxes and connections. But the biggest advantage of PP 20 GF is that this type of material can be recycled.
Uses and application of PP 30 GF
PP 30 GF is very similar to PP 20. But the amount of glass fibre staple fibre as reinforcement is increased by up to 30%, although the standard grain size is the same (4 mm).
Meanwhile, its stiffness and heat resistance capabilities are the same as PP 20 GF. And, it also has the same uses and applications. It is also a recycled plastic that requires a specialist company.
